Question

david's bubble gum mac
I'm sending you an image of a bubble gum machine that I own. I was wondering if maybe you would tell me what it is and when it's from and if possible what it might be worth?

I appreciate your time.

Answer

Perk Up Vender
Hi There David,

This was a little challenging without even a brand name but we have success here! The photo, like always, really helps me a lot, thank you for posting one and sharing it with us here. You have a great looking machine there, and complete with the original stand and everything. Very nice. I enjoy seeing it as it should be, and not over restored. I couldn't find piles of information on this machine, but enough to fill in the questions on it. This was made by Perk, and it is called "Perk Up Double", they made a single unit also and it was called "Perk up". Interesting name, and a name that tell a lot of hidden information about it. Interesting as it is. This is a nickel aluminum breath pellet machine with a tray. Many have been found that vend, PERK UP CAFFEINE "Stay Awake" pellets, is that not cool or what! I could see this at a truck stop out on the interstate sitting there in the middle of the night. Both the globes look correct on your machine, it's 11" tall, with the single being 10" tall with a little different globe. Very nice David, The only value I can find on it, is from a value guide and book from 1995, and this value is $125.00 for the double, and $75.00 for the single. Remember this is a value guide and not a blue book, there are no blue books. If the day comes where you decide to sell it, base your value on this information, a starting point for you, a guide, and go from there and add what it is worth to you. The value on items like this is found with this correct statement: value depends on what the seller is willing to take for the item and what the buyer is willing to pay for it. This is really were the correct value is, as items like this tend to have a large swing in selling prices and no set blue book, but it's much easer to work with a guide value for a base line, which I have provided for you here. I sincerely hope this covers all your questions, if not ask away, as I always aim for the highest feed back here as possible and I enjoy helping people like your self who also have an interest in these great antiques from the past.

Thank You

Expertise

I am an expert on old coin operated machines, slot machines, trade stimulator's, jukeboxes, old arcade machines, etc. I have been identifying these for people who respond to my web site listed below, for a few years now. In almost all cases I am able to tell them about their old coin operated machines, the year, the value, and other general information about their machines. I do not know much about soda vending machines, coin banks, or scales, but I will try to help you with these if I can. Experience

I bought my first slot machine, a .50 Cent Mills Black Cherry in 1969 and have been hooked from that time, I still have that Slot machine! Before that I found a open barrel full of old scraped jukebox wall boxes behind a restaurant, I wanted them all but never took a one of them. Anything that took a coin drove me nuts!
