Question
Hi Rodger,

I have a 1948 bally lexington flipperless pinball machine amd wonder if you can tell me what the general value is for this game?  It is in good condition with just a little tune up. I am ready to sell the game.

Thank you,
Milly

Answer
Hi Milly,

I know this Big Lug, I had two of them in the past, they are big and they are heavy! They're a great old payout wood rail pinball machine. You can see a little more of it at: http://www.ipdb.org/machine.cgi?id=4829
It's remarkable that all the wiring and relays and steppers, counters and other items it takes to run this machine, inside the back and down in the machine there has to be 50 miles of cloth wiring. This is a really neat old game Milly, but unfortunately there due just never came with the collectors. I don't know why, but they just never brought any value. They did sell in the 400.00 to 800.00 range at one time and averaged around 600.00 for a nice one, but now days it just might stay on site forever at $600.00. So, if you can get $400.00 or more out of it, go ahead and sell it, as your going to be right in there for value. I would try 600.00 to 800.00 if you have the time, but if you were looking to buy one, you should be able to buy one for around $400.00. If it's not working then you might have problems selling it as they can take some time to fix them, and the longer they sit the stiffer and gummier things get inside.

I hope this information helps you.

Thank You

Sincerely
Rodger Knutson

Expertise

I am an expert on old coin operated machines, slot machines, trade stimulator's, jukeboxes, old arcade machines, etc. I have been identifying these for people who respond to my web site listed below, for a few years now. In almost all cases I am able to tell them about their old coin operated machines, the year, the value, and other general information about their machines. I do not know much about soda vending machines, coin banks, or scales, but I will try to help you with these if I can. Experience

I bought my first slot machine, a .50 Cent Mills Black Cherry in 1969 and have been hooked from that time, I still have that Slot machine! Before that I found a open barrel full of old scraped jukebox wall boxes behind a restaurant, I wanted them all but never took a one of them. Anything that took a coin drove me nuts!
