Question
The handle is getting stuck in the full down position and the reels don't release.  I am getting a error code of 70 which confirms my thoughts that this is a mechanical issue.  I have read through the manual and it seems like I probably need to make some minor adjustments to the Reel Mechanism.  The manual mentions a "Pt. No. K-574 Test Handle" which would make life so much easier since the adjustments could be tested before putting the mechanism back in the cabinet.  Any idea where I could find one of these or any DYI solutions you know of that would allow to test adjustments with the reel mechanism outside of the cabinet?

Thanks,
Lisa

Answer
Hi Lisa,

Your lucky you figured how to get the mechanism out with the handle stuck down, that can be tricky, good job! This test handle your referring to was made to operate a mechanism when it was placed in a Bally tester unit. Yes, there a very good thing to have when working on a mechanism and not easy to find out there. I have a spare or two and I might part with one if you want to write me about it at Jackpot7@q.com Working the mechanism out of the cabinet is a little hard as about all you can do is push in the piston bar, and without help you will just push the mechanism right out into the street and still won't get it to kick off, and when you do there is no time to see what is happening. It sounds to be like you wanting to adjust the P-6287 bracket stop so the mechanism trips just a little sooner.

Thank You
Sincerely

Expertise

I am an expert on old coin operated machines, slot machines, trade stimulator's, jukeboxes, old arcade machines, etc. I have been identifying these for people who respond to my web site listed below, for a few years now. In almost all cases I am able to tell them about their old coin operated machines, the year, the value, and other general information about their machines. I do not know much about soda vending machines, coin banks, or scales, but I will try to help you with these if I can. Experience

I bought my first slot machine, a .50 Cent Mills Black Cherry in 1969 and have been hooked from that time, I still have that Slot machine! Before that I found a open barrel full of old scraped jukebox wall boxes behind a restaurant, I wanted them all but never took a one of them. Anything that took a coin drove me nuts!
