Question My dad has a Gottlieb Grip tester that he believes is pre-1900. Could you please provide any information as to its value? Also, he is interested in selling this and if you could help me find a buyer, I would greatly appreciate any assistance you might be able to provide. Thank you so much and have a great day! June
Answer Hi June,
Thank you for writing, and what a nice machine you have there. Outside of the information you have on it I don't have much to add. I see different testers like yours and have some information but just not on you model. However, I did find one while looking for more information on it then what I had, and I found one that is on ebay auction right now. You can watch this auction and get an idea of it's value. Based on what I have on them this is worth around 350.00 on average for the counter models like yours. The auction you want to check out is located at:
I am an expert on old coin operated machines, slot machines, trade stimulator's, jukeboxes, old arcade machines, etc. I have been identifying these for people who respond to my web site listed below, for a few years now. In almost all cases I am able to tell them about their old coin operated machines, the year, the value, and other general information about their machines. I do not know much about soda vending machines, coin banks, or scales, but I will try to help you with these if I can. Experience
I bought my first slot machine, a .50 Cent Mills Black Cherry in 1969 and have been hooked from that time, I still have that Slot machine! Before that I found a open barrel full of old scraped jukebox wall boxes behind a restaurant, I wanted them all but never took a one of them. Anything that took a coin drove me nuts!
