Question
QUESTION: #83 & #93 error codes. reel moved after index. what does this mean. have cleaned and oiled mechanisn, checked selenoids and reel readers. please help.

ANSWER: Hi William,

I am not so sure as to the code 83, but code 93 is a position error in 2 of the last 8 spins with reel number 3. I know you said that you have cleaned and oiled your machine but have another good look at the linkage under that third reel, everything under it has to operate cleanly and quickly. Also maybe swap your reel readers to see if the error code might change or move to the middle reel or code 92 if you swapped the reel readers with reel two and three. If it does change to a 92 then it could be one reel reader emitter or receiver bad on something wrong with the reel reader it's self. One other thing to do is CLEAN THOSE ALUMINUM PINS on the reel mechanism and hopper, these corrode and cause many many problems. You reel moved after index could mean that the index lever missed it's targeted reel symbol, and it landed on one next to the one the machine intended it to land on. The machine would then read the outcome and not like seeing that it landed on something else, or if the reel reader has a problem and can't reed the outcome right.

Hope this helps some.

Thank You

QUESTION: do not understand aluminum pins on reel mech. or hopper, unless you are talking about the plug ins.

Answer
Yes William,

the plug's from the component like the reel mechanism to the cabinet, and the hopper to the cabinet, these Molex plugs. I can't believe just how many problems can be fixed on these machines just by cleaning these pins. I use that wire brush found in auto parts and hardware stores that are the size of a tooth brush or a barbecue brush. I am not so sure this will solve your problem but it may so elimante it first.

Expertise

I am an expert on old coin operated machines, slot machines, trade stimulator's, jukeboxes, old arcade machines, etc. I have been identifying these for people who respond to my web site listed below, for a few years now. In almost all cases I am able to tell them about their old coin operated machines, the year, the value, and other general information about their machines. I do not know much about soda vending machines, coin banks, or scales, but I will try to help you with these if I can. Experience

I bought my first slot machine, a .50 Cent Mills Black Cherry in 1969 and have been hooked from that time, I still have that Slot machine! Before that I found a open barrel full of old scraped jukebox wall boxes behind a restaurant, I wanted them all but never took a one of them. Anything that took a coin drove me nuts!
