Collectibles-General (Antiques)/Gottlieb Strength Tester

Question
Good Afternoon,
I have a Gottlieb strength tester. It had been my Fathers, and is now in my possession.
This machine has no bars on either side, just the squeeze mechanism.
I would like to restore the game. I replaced a couple of springs.
Also, replaced the screws on the face plate.
It seems to be not to complicated to restore if you would have the proper workings.
I would appreciate any help, and assistance.
Thank you for anything you can do.
With much respect,
Tom

Answer
Hi Tom, Not sure how much I can help you.  Dave Gottlieb, was a route(coin op machine) operator in Dallas until around 1927, when he came up with the idea of a coin op strength tester.  Soon after that he moved to Chicago and began production of this machine, which was the first product of the D. Gottlieb co.  one of the premier makes of pinball machines into the 1990's.  These machines were of very sturdy construction, so if you just disassemble and clean it, you should be okay.  Good Luck!   Larry
