Question
Today I bought a  vntage toy sewing machine and I can't find a name on it. It was made in japan, it folds out of a red wooden box, that turns into a stand.underneath it has a place for 2 batteries. The box is covered in red paper and has a latch and handle too carry it with while closed. On the inside of the door there is a fabric pocket. Thanks for any info!

Answer
Hello Kim,
Thank you for your query and for providing a photo and detailed description.
Your toy sewing machine is called the KRAEMER toy, battery operated.  It came with a foot pedal - Does yours have a foot pedal?
It sews a chain stitch. The box is simulated leather.
It dates to the 1950-1960's and it was made in Japan.
I hope this helps.
Regards,
Irene

Expertise

I have been a collector of antique sewing tools and thimbles for over 30 years. I am also a dealer in this field and sell on eBay under the name -- serengeti2. I am NOT, and I repeat NOT an expert on antique or vintage domestic household sewing machines used for everyday home sewing. I can offer help when it comes to TOY or miniature collectible sewing machines ONLY.
