Question
I have a Victorian wicker baby buggy that is turn of the century I am guessing that is in great shape except the rubber tires are breaking up. The wheels are wooden spoke with a rubber tread that has a wire that runs thru rubber. Where do I find tire replacements???
This is one of the most asked questions about carriages and the answer, sadly, is their aren't any.I haven't been able to even find a source of the material to try and repair the wheels. You have a few choices, leave it as is is the first. The second would be to use some sort of rubber tube, perhaps like fuel line, and epoxy it to the rims using a short plug to join the ends.
You need to use a tubing that is fairly stiff on its own because you don't want the weight of the carriage to collapse it.
