Question I recently bought a bar with a built in video poker slot machine. I love the look but would only like it for fun. Now you have to out in quarters or game tokens to make it work. It also has a bill reader but all I want is to hit a button or something like that to have it just work without coins. I need to get credits in it and for it not to pay out in coins, any suggestions?
Answer Hi Ed,
Well this can or is, a tricky one. These slots were never designed to operate for free, if they did there would be no one to pay the Vegas light bill each month, and what a whopper that bill must be? Anyway Ed, maybe something can be done but first I would have to know what the machine is, a manufacture name and model type to even start thinking about it as all slot machines are different. If it takes tokens, I would assume it has a coin comparator for a coin acceptor, but I am only guessing here on that. Photo's would help, and might be easer to see what you have and have to work with. If you can send photo's, please email them to Jackpot7@q.com so we can see what you have. Then I might be able to see if there would be some way to make this work.
I am an expert on old coin operated machines, slot machines, trade stimulator's, jukeboxes, old arcade machines, etc. I have been identifying these for people who respond to my web site listed below, for a few years now. In almost all cases I am able to tell them about their old coin operated machines, the year, the value, and other general information about their machines. I do not know much about soda vending machines, coin banks, or scales, but I will try to help you with these if I can. Experience
I bought my first slot machine, a .50 Cent Mills Black Cherry in 1969 and have been hooked from that time, I still have that Slot machine! Before that I found a open barrel full of old scraped jukebox wall boxes behind a restaurant, I wanted them all but never took a one of them. Anything that took a coin drove me nuts!
