Question I have a bally slot machine that takes 5 coins and has 3 wheels. The glass on the bottom has 25 cents on it multiple times and it has a tag that has 1946 on it and another tag that has silver nugget on it. Do you know anything of this machine and its value it works perfect and also has a coin hopper and accepts quarters not tokens. Thanks for any info you can give me
Answer Hi Russ,
Sorry for the delay in response, the allexperts site here has not been sending me notifications that there are questions waiting for me, I hope this can be fixed soon.
As for your machine being 1946, I don't think it is as the payout hopper was not invented until about 1964. So, I think you have something else like maybe an electro/mechanical Bally slot machine if it does not have circuit boards in it. Could you see if you can find a model number on it? Maybe on a metal serial number type tag, or email me a photo of it to: Jackpot7@q.com if you can. A photo of the outside and one showing the inside would really help. There are Manuals located at: http://jackpot7.freeyellow.com/page21.html which would cover this machine if it is a mechanical or a e/m type machine.
I am an expert on old coin operated machines, slot machines, trade stimulator's, jukeboxes, old arcade machines, etc. I have been identifying these for people who respond to my web site listed below, for a few years now. In almost all cases I am able to tell them about their old coin operated machines, the year, the value, and other general information about their machines. I do not know much about soda vending machines, coin banks, or scales, but I will try to help you with these if I can. Please email photo's to: jackpot7@ix.netcom.com My web site is at: http://www.coinslots.com
Experience
I bought my first slot machine, a .50 Cent Mills Black Cherry in 1969 and have been hooked from that time, I still have that Slot machine! Before that I found a open barrel full of old scraped jukebox wall boxes behind a restaurant, I wanted them all but never took a one of them. Anything that took a coin drove me nuts!
