Question
QUESTION: I have what seems to be a 'Boston Rocker', after reading a reply from Fred Taylor just bnow. But my chair has CR Wilder New York stamped underneath. It has the same plank seat and curved spindles and painted surface as the Boston Rocker, but does the New York Manufacturer make it not a Boston Rocker?

ANSWER: Many styles like this were first made in one area and later expanded to other parts of the country. A Boston Rocker is a style that could have been made in NY.A Kennedy Rocker or New England Porch Rocker are other examples.
