Question
French Provincial dresser
French Provincial dres
QUESTION: Hi, can you tell me if this is French Provincial?  If so, do you know the style or name of it?  I know you don't appraise, but do you think I can get anything for this if I put it in the paper?  I'm not really sure where else to sell it.  Thank you.

ANSWER: Hi Tonya
Sorry for the delay in answering this for you but it seems the site has  glitch. I only received this today.
This is quite a nice French Provincial piece.
I have never seen one like this and certainly you should have no trouble selling it in the paper.
Word you add something like this..Lovely and unusual French Provincial dresser with with hutch.
Antique white with gold trim. This piece is in very fine condition. Not necessarily a bedroom piece and could be used in a dining room also. A must see. $250.00 or closest offer.
Good Luck Tonya

Eileen

French Provincial night stand
French Provincial nigh
QUESTION: Do you have any idea what the name of it is?  I have night stands, and other pieces. I was trying to look for info online so I know what to sell the other pieces for too.  Wow, thanks for the suggestion on the other piece for $250.  I would have only asked around $50 for it. This is what the night stands look like too.  So they are called French Provincial or is there another name I need to look under?  When I do a search I don't see anything that looks like these pieces.  Thank you again for your help.

Answer
Hi again Tonya
There are many examples of French Provincial pieces on line
Look here

This furniture is very well made as a rule and 250.00 is a fair price for the dresser with hutch.
Good Luck

Expertise

I can answer most questions about the repairing and refinishing of all your old furniture items (the things we call antiques). I can also give you advice on what wood items to choose and what wood items to avoid at auctions, flea markets etc. I DO NOT give appraisals on antiques as this is not my field of expertise.

Experience

I have been repairing, refinishing and of course buying old furniture for the past 30 years. On any given weekend I can be found at auction sales or flea markets searching out a good buy. I have taken several courses in this area over the years, but I find "Hands On" learning to be the best teacher. I can help you avoid the pitfalls and problems of this wonderful rewarding craft.
