Question
My mother recently passed away.  She has an old black Singer sewing machine which was motorized back in the 1950 - It was removed from the table and an electric foot peddle was put on it.  Other than sentimental value, does this machine have any value since it had been "updated."

Answer
Hello D,
Sorry to hear about your mother, my condolences to you and to your family.
I'm afraid that I am not an expert when it comes to the household, full-sized models of sewing machines. As far as sewing machines go, I can only help with the antique TOY or Collectible variety.  If you take a moment to read back in prior Q & A's, you will however find various links to websites that may be of interest to you for full-sized machines.
Regards,
Irene

Expertise

I have been a collector of antique sewing tools and thimbles for over 30 years. I am also a dealer in this field and sell on eBay under the name -- serengeti2. I am NOT, and I repeat NOT an expert on antique or vintage domestic household sewing machines used for everyday home sewing. I can offer help when it comes to TOY or miniature collectible sewing machines ONLY.
