Question

betsy ross machine
I have two hand held sewing machines. I have on that is self crank, its light green in color and says betsy ross pat pend on it. no case just the machine. What do you think it's worth and where do I go to sell it? The other Is another hand crank all metal sewing machine, made in england. That is the only info I have on this one, no other identifying info on it anywhere. Same question as the Betsy ross one. Thanks

Answer
Hello Nicole,
Thank you for including a photograph of your Betsy Ross toy machine.
Your best bet on researching prices is on eBay.  There are so many toy machines on the market and prices vary.  On eBay you can research the listing and selling price and this will give you a good indication of what these machines are worth. Your machine shows a great deal of rust so that needs to be taken into consideration.
Currently there is a Betsy Ross in similar condition listed with a starting price of $9.99(on eBay). One in very nice condition, no box sold for $35.00
This should give you a price guideline to work with.
As far as your other machine goes, you have not provided me with enough detail to go on to even begin to identify the machine, sorry.
Regards,
Irene

Expertise

I have been a collector of antique sewing tools and thimbles for over 30 years. I am also a dealer in this field and sell on eBay under the name -- serengeti2. I am NOT, and I repeat NOT an expert on antique or vintage domestic household sewing machines used for everyday home sewing. I can offer help when it comes to TOY or miniature collectible sewing machines ONLY.
