ANSWER: Hi Kim,

WOW!, now that is a ton of machine! I normally try to reject vending machine questions as there not my expertise, but by your photo I think I have a match for yours. Made by Sure-Vend and a model P-195 I think. Value, I am sorry is not real good in the value guide, about $150.00 un'restored and about $925.00 restored, see attached photo with values.
I hope this helps Kim.

Thank You

QUESTION: Can you give me some insight into why different machines of the same era have such a vast difference in value?  I was amazed at the value of this machine

Have a great day and thanks again!

Answer
Hi Kim,

I totally understand your feeling on this, and it's a tough question. I can only say, it's just what is most popular with collectors. There is a very small Coca-Cola machine which has a value of thousands of dollars. As I say in my expertise, I don't do vending machines. So I don't have all the understanding of them. As for slot machines, one model of Watling can be worth 900.00, and another model called a Rol-A-Top can be worth as high as 5,000.00. It's all in what people want, the looks, the size, the brand. You can even see this more with Art. In your case I would say the large size of this machine is one of it's downfalls. It's huge and heavy and hard to move, and takes up a big foot print in the house.

Thanks

Expertise

I am an expert on old coin operated machines, slot machines, trade stimulator's, jukeboxes, old arcade machines, etc. I have been identifying these for people who respond to my web site listed below, for a few years now. In almost all cases I am able to tell them about their old coin operated machines, the year, the value, and other general information about their machines. I do not know much about soda vending machines, coin banks, or scales, but I will try to help you with these if I can. Please email photo's to: jackpot7@ix.netcom.com My web site is at: http://www.coinslots.com

Experience

I bought my first slot machine, a .50 Cent Mills Black Cherry in 1969 and have been hooked from that time, I still have that Slot machine! Before that I found a open barrel full of old scraped jukebox wall boxes behind a restaurant, I wanted them all but never took a one of them. Anything that took a coin drove me nuts!
