Question

dans 111
I recently bought two pressed back matching chairs and on the seat of one there is a small "tear." I guess that is the best way to describe it. It almost looks like the tip of a knife jabbed into it. The cut is about 3/8's of an inch. The seller said the seats were cane but I really don't know. Any advice you may have would be appreciated.

Answer
Yes, they are pressed or prewoven cane. The small slit could be repaired IF the cane is not brittle. If they are, you need to have the seats replaced. It may be cheaper to have the seat replaced then repaired. Check with your chair caner for advice.
