Question

Hi,  I have a Franklin treadle sewing machine s/n 48932, it is in a cabinet which opens up left and the machine rotates up.  I would like to find out its age, who is the manufacturer and where I might be able to obtain a users manual.  The bobbin case is a bullet style and I have no idea what the items value is.  I will try and attach a picture.  Thank you.

Answer
Hello Susan,
The household or domestic full-sized sewing machines are outside of my expertise, sorry. When it comes to sewing machines I can only be of assistance on the toy, child's or salesman sample sized antique variety of machine.
You might want to try to resubmit your query to another expert.
Regards,
Irene

Expertise

I have been a collector of antique sewing tools and thimbles for over 30 years. I am also a dealer in this field and sell on eBay under the name -- serengeti2. I am NOT, and I repeat NOT an expert on antique or vintage domestic household sewing machines used for everyday home sewing. I can offer help when it comes to TOY or miniature collectible sewing machines ONLY.
