Question
I have a great condition/fully functioning red Pulver 1 cent gum machine.  It holds three flavors of beechie or beech nut gum?  It has a mirror on the front of it and the lock is right above mirror.  Inside it has three metal shafts for each flavor.  Trying to find out value.  I can't locate anything on internet about this model.  Thank you so much.

Answer
Hi Rose,
Your machine was made in the early 1950's. It was one of the last machines Pulver made before going out of business in 1953-4. There are several versions of your machine. Some were painted but most were porcelain. There were 2 versions with the push buttons to release the gum - one plain and then a rarer version with smiley faces on the buttons. I recently sold a smiley face version for 200.00.
Your machine would probably sell in the 100-150 range today. It is not popular with collectors due to its size and weight. I would be interested in the machine if it is the red painted version but I already have the porcelain version.
I also sell reproduction Pulver gum that would have been sold in the machine.
 Thanks, tom

Expertise

I am able to answer questions on old coin operated machines. These include vending machines such as gumball or peanut or other machines such as trade stimulators that did not dispense a product but were positioned on a store's counter to bring in customers or stimulate trade. I specialize in machines by Pulver, Zeno, and Mansfield and also any old cast iron or wood machines.

Experience

I have been collecting these type of machines for about 10 years and have traveled the country to antique shows and auctions.
