Question
The machine I have has Standard in a circle on both sides of the frame. The metal tag which was in the drawer is a Standard Sewing Machine Company , Cleveland Ohio, The Pat. on the tag are Pat. Feb 5 84, Pat. July 6,86, Pat. JANY 18, 87 No. 81597. This machine was owned by my grandmother who made clothes for her 12 children on the farm. The wood top appears to be Walnut Veneer. Just wondered if it possibly had any value. It is in fair condition and has all the parts even the original oil can. Thank you for allowing me to share. I am 71 so this machine has some age. Evidently it was one of the originals. Thanks You, Mel

Answer
Hello Mel,
Thank you for your query.  Unfortunately I cannot be of much assistance to you.  My expertise when it comes to sewing machines is in the antique toy or miniature variety and not in the standard household machines.
If you page back into my file you will however find other links to site that may be of assistance to you re: the standard household sewing machine.
Regards,
Irene

Expertise

I have been a collector of antique sewing tools and thimbles for over 30 years. I am also a dealer in this field and sell on eBay under the name -- serengeti2. I am NOT, and I repeat NOT an expert on antique or vintage domestic household sewing machines used for everyday home sewing. I can offer help when it comes to TOY or miniature collectible sewing machines ONLY.
