Collectibles-General (Antiques)/Daval pinball

Question
Hi  Rodger.   I  have bought  at a  local  auction in Dorset in  the  south west  of  the  UK  the remains  of  a  Daval  flipperless  pinball  machine.  The  main  deck  appears  complete with   the  mechanics  below.  The  display  on  the  end  is  missing  with  presumably  the  score  counter. The  machine  is  18 inches  by  34 inches  and  is  floor  standing.  It  has  a  clockwork  game  timer  and  pneumatic  damper  on  part  of  the  mechanism.
The main deck  has  no  words  on  it  and  no  obvious  theme  to  the  game.
I should  like  to  fabricate  a  replacement  score  assembly  but  I  need  to  know  what  it  would  have  looked  like.
Do  you  know  where  I  could  see  pictures  of  this  or  similar  Daval  machines?

Thanks Michael Axford.

Answer
Hi Michael

Michael this is going to be a bit of a task here, I didn't know Daval made many pinball machines, this sounds like it could even be an early Baffle ball or counter Bagatelle table pin, but it does have legs so it's a early floor game that is about 18 x 34 inches. With no name to even start with this is tough. Can you email a photo of what you have? maybe I can match it up with something? my email is Jackpot7@q.com Is the manufacture name duval on a serial number tag? anything else besides the daval name?

Thank You

Rodger

Expertise

I am an expert on old coin operated machines, slot machines, trade stimulator's, jukeboxes, old arcade machines, etc. I have been identifying these for people who respond to my web site listed below, for a few years now. In almost all cases I am able to tell them about their old coin operated machines, the year, the value, and other general information about their machines. I do not know much about soda vending machines, coin banks, or scales, but I will try to help you with these if I can. Please email photo's to: jackpot7@ix.netcom.com My web site is at: http://www.coinslots.com

Experience

I bought my first slot machine, a .50 Cent Mills Black Cherry in 1969 and have been hooked from that time, I still have that Slot machine! Before that I found a open barrel full of old scraped jukebox wall boxes behind a restaurant, I wanted them all but never took a one of them. Anything that took a coin drove me nuts!
