Collectibles-General (Antiques)/ESCO 1936 pinball machine

Question
We recently acquired this pinball machine and would like to know what the value of it is.  On the machine says it's Sky Chief.  It has the original glass, all wood, extra rubbers for the bumpers. It is electric and has no paddles. It has original paint.  The last patent date is 1936.  Hope you can help us out on this.

Answer
Hi, The patent dates on the ABT brand coin slide have nothing to do with the date of the machine.  The game is from March 1942 which is right around the time where Exhibit Supply Co.(ESCO) as well as all other factories, stopped production of games to make military supplies for the war effort.  And so the theme is Air Force.  Games from the late 1930's until the introduction of the flipper(1947) are some of the lowest value games.  They can look nice, but no collector appeal.  Your game in nice condition would bring $200-300.   Larry
