Question
I have a Roll-A-Top slotmachine and was interested in it's value. It is a five cent machine in working condition with a Bird of Paradise at the top which seems to be surrounded with cherries. An eagle is above the twin payoff containers. The sides of the twin payoff containers are plain with no decorations. Inside the machine stamped into the metal is the date 1933. On a list of Wattling machines it does not list a machine for 1933. My machine needs some cosmedic restoring, probably including replacing spring and tightening. The nickles hang up at the top and I have to work them loose, otherwise, it does work okay. I appreciate any help.

Answer
Rocky,

The Watling Bird of Paradise has been reproduced.  Do you know if yours is an original?  The value is much higher for an original than the reproduction.  Condition is also an important factor with antique slot machines.  Can you email me pictures?  My email address is buck@nvc.net

I can provide specific information after viewing pictures.
