I have a 1976 Gottlieb Surf Champ 4 player pinball machine that is not in perfect condition, but has been restored so it plays very well. It needs a couple of light bulbs replaced and the plastic decorative plates on top of two of the bumpers have a small piece broken off. Otherwise the game works wonderfully and we've enjoyed playing it for many hours. I have tried to search the web to find out how much I could sell it for to no avail. I cannot find one that is for sale currently where I have searched so I am totally lost at what I should ask for mine. Would you please let me know what this machine is worth? I thank you so much for your time!
Answer Hi Laurel,
Your Surf Champ as a average condition working value of $626.00 as of 2010 in the value guide. They produced 1,070 of this four player game in 1976. Hope this answers all your questions but remember this is a guide value as there is no blue book to say. So nothing is wrong with asking more as you can always take less for it.
I am an expert on old coin operated machines, slot machines, trade stimulator's, jukeboxes, old arcade machines, etc. I have been identifying these for people who respond to my web site listed below, for a few years now. In almost all cases I am able to tell them about their old coin operated machines, the year, the value, and other general information about their machines. I do not know much about soda vending machines, coin banks, or scales, but I will try to help you with these if I can. I bought my first slot machine, a .50 Cent Mills Black Cherry in 1969 and have been hooked from that time, I still have that Slot machine! Before that I found a open barrel full of old scraped jukebox wall boxes behind a restaurant, I wanted them all but never took a one of them. Anything that took a coin drove me nuts!
