Question

Scattered Roos
Recently bought this machine, but have no idea what it is.
I believe it's an ARISTOCRAT JUBILEE RIVIERA.
All I want to know is the year of manufacture, the mechanism has the number 22170 stamped on the front.

Answer
Hi Bruce,

WOW, I love this! I have seen very many mechanical machines from overseas and I have see a few in the last few days! These are great machines! Unfortunately I just do don't see many of them to know for sure who made it, but I would agree with you, I do think it is an Aristocrat by the looks of it. I have only found one mechanical slot machine service manual for mechanical Aristocrat slot machines, or pokies right? If you would want to know where you can get this manual it is located at:

http://jackpot7.freeyellow.com/page21.html

And look for:

Aristocrat Mechanical Slot Machine Service Manual for Regal MK. II. Covers machines made in 1976 or before. This is a mechanical slot machine service manual, for the Aristocrat mechanical slot machines. This is the Revised July 1976 manual. Manuals for mechanical slot machines of this make and some others are just are not found, this should cover all the basic operation and adjustments for most of the old mechanical Aristocrat machines. It's a Small manual, but I was very surprised at how much really good information there is in it. Lots of good clear information and drawings for making many different adjustments, about 25 pages of good clear information including setting of the reels.

Your machine looks like an Aristocrat but I find it strange there are no marking on it, not even on the edge of the glass? There are a few other manufactures like Nut and Muddle, and maybe some others but I can think of them right now that were also Australia made machines. At this time Bruce all I can do is try to do some more digging on this but information here is not easy to find on these overseas machines. I do find them very interesting, and I am always looking for more information on there history. I know there is a book in the works and when this is published it might shed a lot more light on this subject, I can't wait for it to be published but it's not there yet, and I know he is working hard on it now.

Thank You

Expertise

I am an expert on old coin operated machines, slot machines, trade stimulator's, jukeboxes, old arcade machines, etc. I have been identifying these for people who respond to my web site listed below, for a few years now. In almost all cases I am able to tell them about their old coin operated machines, the year, the value, and other general information about their machines. I do not know much about soda vending machines, coin banks, or scales, but I will try to help you with these if I can. Please email photo's to: jackpot7@ix.netcom.com My web site is at: http://www.coinslots.com

Experience

I bought my first slot machine, a .50 Cent Mills Black Cherry in 1969 and have been hooked from that time, I still have that Slot machine! Before that I found a open barrel full of old scraped jukebox wall boxes behind a restaurant, I wanted them all but never took a one of them. Anything that took a coin drove me nuts!
