Question

Thimble
I have enclosed a photo of a thimble with a straw case and lid from my husbands grandmother.  Not sure if it's worth anything.
Thanks

Answer
Hello Carolyn.  The thimble holder is a sweet grass basket.  Many claim to be made by native Americans, but since none are signed, it is impossible to date them.  The basket, if in very good condition is probably worth between $15 and $25.  They usually made a set of needlework tool holders, scissors case, etc.  They are commonly found on ebay.  You would need to send a picture of just the thimble for me to tell you more about it.  The band pattern may have been done in both aluminum as well as sterling; making a great deal difference in price.  Hope this helps.  Barbara
