Questionthank you for your correct disection of my earlier problem. now i have a few more maybe you can help with. my bally 742a-401 is from 1969 it has stardust as a payout symbol so i am assuming it is from the stardust casino. it has been converted to accept quarters and is a one line payout. i would like to find a feature glass for the top or just be able to change the glass and reels to match a feature glass. any idea where i could find these parts or what the value could be of my machine. i gave 150 for it i am hoping i have gotten a good deal. again i am at work and forgot to bring a picture to upload. but naything you could tell me would be appreciated. i did download a manual off of you which has been a big help
AnswerHi Brian,
Great, love to hear that you got it playing again. I am not sure which manual you got, but the Bally # 2400 manual is one of the best for understanding the circuits in a Bally e/m game like this. It will show what leaf switch in a relay bank of switches, does what, and where each relay is located in the machine, Bally wire codes and colors, unit repairs and functions like step up units., hoppers and how it works. etc., etc., so if you don't have this manual, remember it is available out there or at:

Barry fox is a good source for old Bally glass, you can see some of his glass on ebay at:

I would say that you got a good deal on this machine, these machines are selling around 450.00 to 900.00 at this time. Changing the reels could be a problem unless you can match the payout amounts and types with the award glass, and just changing the reel tapes will not work, you would need to change the whole reel bundle, or the reel strips and the matching three index disks that need to match the reel symbols layout. I might even have something that would work for glass If I could see your machine and know which glass you want to change. E-mail a photo sometime if you like, my e-mail is jackpot7@q.com
Thank You, and thank you for the great feedback, that feedback makes this job easier to do, knowing that I am able to help you makes it all a joy and not just work, as it can be, free work as it is.....
Thanks!
