Answer
Hi Matt,
Happy Thanks Giving to you! Your Bally E/M looks to have come off the assembly line on 6-6-65 I think, this is by your serial number tag. These numbers are hand stamped at the top of the tag in the black area. I can't see the last number but it does look to me to be a 65 for 1965. This very machine you have was originally perched by "The Kellys Nugget Casino" and was one machine in a 10 machine bank Progressive set up. You can see this in the attachment or photo I will add to this answer. As for manuals, you can get those here:
http://jackpot7.freeyellow.com/page21.html
look for any of these:
<This is a very basic manual for the model 742A>
Bally Model 742-A Money Honey Slot Machine Manual. This is the Service Instructions and parts catalog manual from the original Manual for the 1964 Bally Money Honey. Sent by e-mail to you.
<This is an excellent manual and I highly recommend this one>
Bally Electro/Mechanical Manual Number 2400. This is about the best manual Bally ever made for the Electro/Mechanical machines, from the 700 Thu the 1000 model number series machines. Includes wire color codes which will tell you what solid colored wire is caring which voltage and what circuit that is for like the 50 volt coils circuit, etc. Also has detailed stepper units for some of the models. Very good book, good for learning and troubleshooting with. 131 pages of great information. Some of these Manuals may be too large to e-mail, if so, you will receive a email with a link to where you can just click the download button there, and download it very fast and easy, emailed to you.
<This is a helpful troubleshooting manual if your having a problem>
Bally Electro/Mechanical Trouble Shooting Manual/Guide. This is great help for finding those problems with your Bally e/m slot machine, emailed to you.
Your Bally Model M-742A is a great hope type machine, it is smaller then the later machines and in a classic sized cabinet. The Model 742 reinvented the slot machines with it's scoop type payout coin hopper which could payout large wins which was never possible before the invention of this scoop type hopper that first came out in 1964 with the Bally Model M-742. At one time these would sell in the $1,500.00 range. Todays values are much lower, and you can expect seeing them trade in the $400.00 to 900.00 range at auction, more in a retail setting with a guarantee. Yours is a more interesting machine then a lot of these models being a Joker Wild machine, this is very uncommon machine. I might be some help to you in finding a replacement glass, but I can't be sure until I see a photo of the glass you need to replace. You can send me some photo's of it if you like and I'll see what I can do to help you, send the photos to Jackpot7@q.com if possible.
I hope this gives you all the information your asking about Matt, if not and I can help you some more, you know where to find me.
Thank You
Rodger Knutson
