Question
Betsy Ross 2
Betsy Ross 2
I was wondering what the value of this is. Also, do you have instructions on how to run it? Doesn't it need a bobbin?
It does work wonderfully, but it doesn't hold the stitch in the fabric. I wish to give it to my oldest Granddaughter, as it was her mother's given to her my my mother.

Thank you for your time.

Answer
Hello Teresa,
Thank you for your query.
I do not however, do valuations without the object in hand and, I do charge a fee.
However, you can check auction sites like eBay for completed auctions for the specific item in mind, and this will give you a good idea of what these machines are selling for.
No, the Betsy Ross does not need a separate bobbin.  It sews a chain stitch.
I have the threading instructions and would be happy to share them with you. (free)  Please send an email to me at: xtahoeviews@yahoo.com
and be sure to put in the subject line:  Teresa - Betsy Ross instructions.
Regards,
Irene

Expertise

I have been a collector of antique sewing tools and thimbles for over 30 years. I am also a dealer in this field and sell on eBay under the name -- serengeti2. I am NOT, and I repeat NOT an expert on antique or vintage domestic household sewing machines used for everyday home sewing. I can offer help when it comes to TOY or miniature collectible sewing machines ONLY.
