ANSWER: Hi Rex,

I can help you here with both your requests, a 100 percent answer for you. First manuals, you can get a great manual on this machine at:

http://jackpot7.freeyellow.com/page21.html

And look for this manual:

Bally Electro/Mechanical Manual Number 2400. This is about the best manual Bally ever made for the Electro/Mechanical machines, from the 700 Thu the 1000 model number series machines. Includes wire color codes which will tell you what solid colored wire is caring which voltage and what circuit that is for like the 50 volt coils circuit, etc. Also has detailed stepper units for some of the models. Very good book, good for learning and troubleshooting with. 131 pages of great information. Some of these Manuals may be too large to email, if so, you will receive a email with a link to where you can just click the download button there, and download it very fast and easy.

This is one of the best manuals there is for this model of machine, and easy to read and understand.

This Manual would help with specific problems if you have any:

Bally Electro/Mechanical Trouble Shooting Manual/Guide. This is great help for finding those problems with your Bally e/m slot machine.

Now that we got the manuals you need figured out, so now lets go to your problem. You say that all the light are out and they went out during a payout. If the hopper runs out of coins on these, there is a timer that will shut down the machine to protect the coin hopper. If you look down low and behind you coin hopper you may see a red light back there. Or it may be burned out, anyway there is a reset button behind this coin hopper. pull the hopper out and look to the left side and you will see it. Some machines have a flat lever that is below the coin hopper and you can push this in without removing the hopper to reset it. But if this is missing you will have to pull the hopper out, and push the button in by hand. Load your coin hoper up with coins and turn the machine back on to finish the payout. This should get you all fixed up Rex. Please leave feedback, as that is all I get out of all this. Oh.... That 809 is a great machine, it's a good one to own!

Thank You

QUESTION: can you put a value on this machine.
Bally 1967 model 809

Answer
Hi Rex,

Did you get it reset OK? Value, that is a hard question. It always is, value is what the seller is willing to sell it for and what the buyer is willing to pay for it, that how value goes on antiques. I do see them trade from 500.00 to 1,000.00 with average being around 800.00. In a retail location maybe selling with a guarantee you might see a price on it of 1,295.00. Hope this helps.

Expertise

I am an expert on old coin operated machines, slot machines, trade stimulator's, jukeboxes, old arcade machines, etc. I have been identifying these for people who respond to my web site listed below, for a few years now. In almost all cases I am able to tell them about their old coin operated machines, the year, the value, and other general information about their machines. I do not know much about soda vending machines, coin banks, or scales, but I will try to help you with these if I can. Experience

I bought my first slot machine, a .50 Cent Mills Black Cherry in 1969 and have been hooked from that time, I still have that Slot machine! Before that I found a open barrel full of old scraped jukebox wall boxes behind a restaurant, I wanted them all but never took a one of them. Anything that took a coin drove me nuts!
