Question
if i have the model # can i get a key for it? thank you jeff

Answer
Hi Jeff,

There is a little more to it then that. Scales are like anything else with a key, and you need the key cut code first to make a key and that is stamped on the side of the lock inside the machine! Once you have that number you need to then find someone who was that type of key blank that might not be made any longer. There is a Scale expert here, Bill and Jan Bering, if you had the key cut code number you could get lucky and ask them if they had that key. Some Watling scales used the same lock that is needed for the Watling Slot Machine, so this makes you lock a lock that could cost 100.00 to replace if you drilled it. I lost a key once and was lucky to be able to pick the lock open and save it. But, now I need a key for it and it has a key cut code of WM411. So, maybe you can pick your lock or get a lock smith to pick it for you and save that expencive lock.

Good Luck on it,

Expertise

I am an expert on old coin operated machines, slot machines, trade stimulator's, jukeboxes, old arcade machines, etc. I have been identifying these for people who respond to my web site listed below, for a few years now. In almost all cases I am able to tell them about their old coin operated machines, the year, the value, and other general information about their machines. I do not know much about soda vending machines, coin banks, or scales, but I will try to help you with these if I can. Experience

I bought my first slot machine, a .50 Cent Mills Black Cherry in 1969 and have been hooked from that time, I still have that Slot machine! Before that I found a open barrel full of old scraped jukebox wall boxes behind a restaurant, I wanted them all but never took a one of them. Anything that took a coin drove me nuts!
