Question

Slot machine
Hi Rodger!

I just bought a model 1113 Bally's slot machine.  It's a 3 coin, quarter machine from a casino in Las Vegas, and the rest you probably know.

I have attached a picture and you will notice that the light in the top left corner is not illuminated. The other 2 lights turn on as you put the 2nd and 3rd coins in, but the 1st one never turns on. I also have yet to be paid on jackpots that include cherries, the awards listed on that panel.

Couple of questions:

A. Is the bulb merely out or is it something systematic?
B. Can I (or better yet should I) fix this myself?
C. Are there any other reset buttons or things I can do to keep my new machine running great?

I really appreciated your last posting on another Bally's model.  Very informative about their machine and mine! Look forward to hearing from you!

Mike

PS.  I bought this machine without a key and went through a bunch of locksmiths before I could find one who would pick it and make me a key!  Everyone wanted to Drill baby Drill!

Answer
Hi Mike,

Sorry, but the photo is just to horrible for me to see just what this is. Is this a E-1000 model with circuit boards or a M-1000 without circuit boards? I don't know just which machine it is, but looks to me it has a problem with the step up unit if it's a e/m slot, this step up unit might be in the top box if it's an e/m. If it is a e-1000 model then what error code is it giving you in the winners played window? If it is a e-1000 model the reset button is down on the hopper, it's on the top of a circuit board there, on the coin hopper it's self. On the top edge you will see two buttons, one is set up for the computer and the other is reset. We really need to know if this machine is an e/m machine meaning NO Circuit boards inside, or an E series model meaning it has electronic circuit boards inside.
Thanks

Expertise

I am an expert on old coin operated machines, slot machines, trade stimulator's, jukeboxes, old arcade machines, etc. I have been identifying these for people who respond to my web site listed below, for a few years now. In almost all cases I am able to tell them about their old coin operated machines, the year, the value, and other general information about their machines. I do not know much about soda vending machines, coin banks, or scales, but I will try to help you with these if I can. Experience

I bought my first slot machine, a .50 Cent Mills Black Cherry in 1969 and have been hooked from that time, I still have that Slot machine! Before that I found a open barrel full of old scraped jukebox wall boxes behind a restaurant, I wanted them all but never took a one of them. Anything that took a coin drove me nuts!
