Question
I have my grandmothers 5 piece stacking book case with writing desk. 2 units are D 8-1/2,grade 299. 1 is a pattern 112 grade 299. Not sure about the writing desk as I can't get the lock open. Where can I get a replacement small skeleton key for it?
Can you tell me a little about the piece?

You can find "blank" keys from some suppliers and try and file it to fit or go to a flea market and look for keys that might work. The 2 things to look at are the size of the hole in the end that you can get a good idea by looking at the Pin inside the lock face. The second is the length of the throw part. One a little longer can be filed down. These keys aren't like new door keys in that there isn't the large amount of possibilities like a new lock would have.
