Question
QUESTION: The machine will play for a few pulls then tilt.  The door being open doesn't seem to matter.  I changed the wiring on the door switch then by-passed it but it made no difference.  A shop checked it with no luck.  The reels will not index after reset and it goes to tilt. Sorry I don't have a picture and I'm not where the machine is.  It's an 82 three reel E2000
Thanks

ANSWER: Hi Ben,

You say it will play for a few pulls then tilt, what is the tilt or err code? Is it always the same err code? Sounds like it could be a reel reader but we need to see what code it's giving after a tilt and before you open the door, once you open the door the tilt code is gone forever and replaced with the door open code of 50. we need to know if the err code is always the same.
Thanks

QUESTION: If I remember it didn't have any error code but I will check next in a couple of weeks when I go to the house where the machine is.  Thanks for the response and I will send another message asap.

Answer
Hi Ben,

You should always get a tilt code if your Bally E tilts during play as long as the door is closed. It will flash between coins played and the tilt code and back to the coins played and back to the tilt code. After you open the door it will do the same thing but now your tilt code will be a 50 for door opened. I am looking forward to hearing back from you on this. Try it a few times and see if you always getting the same tilt code when it tilts. If you need a bally manual so you can see all these codes and how to fix them you can get manuals at:

Expertise

I am an expert on old coin operated machines, slot machines, trade stimulator's, jukeboxes, old arcade machines, etc. I have been identifying these for people who respond to my web site listed below, for a few years now. In almost all cases I am able to tell them about their old coin operated machines, the year, the value, and other general information about their machines. I do not know much about soda vending machines, coin banks, or scales, but I will try to help you with these if I can. Experience

I bought my first slot machine, a .50 Cent Mills Black Cherry in 1969 and have been hooked from that time, I still have that Slot machine! Before that I found a open barrel full of old scraped jukebox wall boxes behind a restaurant, I wanted them all but never took a one of them. Anything that took a coin drove me nuts!
