Question
bally 742
bally 742
Rodger,

I have had these 2 machines for about 15 Years now and need to find out more about them before I let them go. They are both in need of repair but still mostly work. I cant seem to find anything about them. The serial numbers on them are as follows
3 wheel melon jackpot 100 coins $0.25 serial# 17694
3 wheel triple 7 Jackpot by attendant $0.05 serial# 17699
Any information you can provide like where they were installed and what the value might be would be very useful in trying to sell them

Sincerely

Brian

Answer
Hi Brian

I have on my computer a large several page story on Bally models 742's dealing with the model numbers and listing where a lot of the models were placed when new. The whole thing is based on this model so all the information you are asking about is covered and really extensive for just one model like this. Its great, and I am sure you would love to have this. If you want to write me at jackpot7@q.com I'll be happy to email it to you for free. As for value in todays market, I see them selling in a range of from about 500.00 to 1,000.00. I see one has a unique bally glass in it, They would load that up with quarters or something else to attract people to it. You do not see those plastic jackpot bally glasses around, quite seldom seen. I have one for the wider bally slots in my parts. I was keeping it because it's cool and thought I would put it on a machine someday but never did, maybe I should put it on ebay or offer it for sale sometime. If you need a manual or two for these machines, there is a great manual Bally Manual #2400 and it's located at:

Expertise

I am an expert on old coin operated machines, slot machines, trade stimulator's, jukeboxes, old arcade machines, etc. I have been identifying these for people who respond to my web site listed below, for a few years now. In almost all cases I am able to tell them about their old coin operated machines, the year, the value, and other general information about their machines. I do not know much about soda vending machines, coin banks, or scales, but I will try to help you with these if I can. Please email photo's to: jackpot7@ix.netcom.com My web site is at: http://www.coinslots.com

Experience

I bought my first slot machine, a .50 Cent Mills Black Cherry in 1969 and have been hooked from that time, I still have that Slot machine! Before that I found a open barrel full of old scraped jukebox wall boxes behind a restaurant, I wanted them all but never took a one of them. Anything that took a coin drove me nuts!
