I have asked several shops if they can identify the leg style, no one seams to know...I know its old...been in the family for four generations and just want to research a bit of history on it.So please if you can tell me anything I would be so happy. I have bought several books and they haven't had it in them...Thank you so much for any help you can give me...Linda

Unless you have a label to tell the maker, it will be hard to identify the leg style. This table is of the oak period, 1880-1920 or so. It probably opens out quite far since it has the 5th leg.The only way to tell more without the label or maker mark, would be to look at furniture catalogs. You could also look at historical venues close to you and see if they have a list of furniture makers in your area, then work your way farther out. Many historical societies have copies of old catalogs you could look at.
