hi  i have just b ought an old hand singer sewing machine.  It is a 99k(it says this on machine) nut it does not have any serial number. Why is this??. Also i have seen other machines which state they are 99k, but they have a serialn number in a metal tag fixed on them. Wher would i find any information on my machine?

Hello Karen.  As my bio states, I don't know much about sewing machines, only antique sewing tools.  There are many internet sites on sewing machines that will help you with researching your machine.  Google antique sewing machines and you will have plenty to keep you busy  :-)  Barbara
