Thank you for your help.

Hi Andie,

Please send a photo of your Style Rx 1 Torsion Balance to us at so that we can help.

Our 1922 Torsion Balance catalog describes the Style 1700 as follows: "Moisture Test Balance.
Style No. 1700. Extensively used for butter testing and other moisture determinations.  Capacity 120 grams, capacity 4 ounces,  sensitiveness 13 milligrams, sensitiveness 1/5 grain, pans, brass, nickel-plated 3 inches, side beams percentage, 10% by 1/10%, 20% by 2/10%, finish white enamel. Arrest for Quick Weighing.
Measurements 10 x 5½  x 9½  inches. Priced with 10 gram weight.  The scale is constructed with percentage beams, so that 0.1 per cent to 30 per cent of moisture can be determined without calculation when 10-gram samples of material are used.  By means of two tare beams one or more dishes can be balanced and recorded".

Retail value in good working condition might be $75-$135.

Hope this helps.
