Question
I have a piano that looks very old and has the serial number 57039 on the inside of it it also has. Patented mark of mar.24 1885 and oct.26 1886. Is this the year it was made and can you tell me an approximate value of it?

Answer
Ruslan - According to the Pierce Piano Atlas Emerson used the serial number 57039 between 1890 and 1895. It lists Emerson numbers by five year groupings.

You would need to have the piano surveyed by a piano tech to determine the condition and value in your area.

Thanks for writing.
