Collectibles-General (Antiques)/turnbull scale

Hi Bill & Jan.  I have a scale with a Turnbull dial or face and on the back it has a Landers Frary Clark label. It appears factory made. Did one company make this scales for the other or did someone alter it? If someone put the Turnbull dial on they did a really good job. It is made almost entirely of cast iron.Photos to your i weigh your site. Thanks Jack

Hi Jack,

We have sent you an article all about Andrew Turnbull's Scales that appeared in "Equilibrium" the journal of the International Society of Antique Scale Collectors.  We think that the article will answer most of your questions.  Retail value might be $125-$200.

Hope this helps.
