AboutIrene Schwall Expertise I have been a collector of antique sewing tools and thimbles for over 30 years. I am also a dealer in this field and sell on eBay under the name -- serengeti2.
Please note:
I am NOT, and I repeat NOT an expert on antique or vintage domestic household sewing machines used for everyday home sewing -- I can offer help when it comes to TOY or miniature collectible sewing machines ONLY.
Experience My expertise is in ANTIQUE sewing or needlework tools & thimbles, gold, silver, brass, ivory, bone etc. Modern thimbles are not necessarily my strong point but I may be able to help so don't hesitate to ask. I am also very well versed in the identification of Hallmarks on sewing collectibles.

Question I have an old child's sewing machine owned by my mother as a child. It is called a Victoria Sewing Machine - No. 48-900. Made in Germany. I would guess my mother received it in the 1920s. The box has an M over a W on it. (Montgomery Ward?) The instructions has a symbol between The ______ Victoria-Sewing Machine. It is wings with an E.P. below it. I will try to send you a picture of the machine and the instructions if it helps. I am curious if it is of any value in today's antique market.
Thanks, Nick
Answer Hello Nick,
Thanks for your query.
Your machine was made by Ernest Plank, Nuremberg, Germany.(E.P. logo with wings is for Ernest Plank) These small sewing machines were distributed under the names of Victoria and Perfect but many were unmarked.
To be able to positively identify your model of machine, I would need you to send me a clear photo. Please also include a photo of the box and tell me about the condition of the machine - i.e. damage?
Send to me at: xtahoeviews@yahoo.com
Thanks.
