Question
I have two very old needles that are rather large.  They were given to me by my Grandmother and she said that they were her Mothers.  One is large and pointed like a regular small sewing needle would be and the other has a sorta three sided curved point .  I assume that they would have been used for Leather or something very tough to sew.  the straight one is approx. 7" long and the curved one is about the same length but the curve makes it appear shorter. They are very sharp.  One has "England" printed on it and the other has "Made in England.  I would like to know what they were actually used for and a "era" that they were made.  My Grandmother was 100 when she passed and I have had them for a long time myself.  I can E-mail Pictures if you are interested.

Answer
Hello Sheila.  I'm sorry for the delay in responding...I went on vacation and forgot to change my AllExperts setting.  Could you please send a digital picture of your needles to me at bacchino@twcny.rr.com.  I'm not up on needle info, but I do have a friend that is and I'd like to consult her for assistance.  A picture would help immensely.  Thanks, Barb
