Question I was hoping you could tell me about a table/desk that has been in my family for as long as I can remember. I'd love to know when it was made. I think it might be walnut and has a 24.5x48.5 inch table top. I will send photos to the above address

Answer Jana – That style label was used by Berkey & Gay around 1905 before it switched to the round brass inset mark. The style of the table is William and Mary and it could be walnut but most of B&G’s work of that period was mahogany. I can’t tell from the photos. Knoleworth was probably the name of the style or line but I can’t find any reference to it in my B&G material. It appears to be a quality piece of work.
