Question
I have a family heirloom of six chairs and one arm chair along with a round dining table that has leafs.  I do not find any stickers or identifying marks on the table, but the chairs have stickers that say Crocker Chair Company from Sheboygan, Wis.  number 2632 (regular chair) and 2633 (arm chair). I also have a round leaf table with one central pedistal table.  I have been trying to find information on the age of the set and also want tips to repair and restore the furnature.   Could you help us?

Dennis

Answer
Hi Dennis
Nice to hear from you.
I would need an in depth description of the repairs these pieces need before I offer any advice about their repair.
The company that made the chairs started in 1865 but you probably know that.
Get back to me.
Regards
Eileen

Expertise

I can answer most questions about the repairing and refinishing of all your old furniture items (the things we call antiques). I can also give you advice on what wood items to choose and what wood items to avoid at auctions, flea markets etc. I DO NOT give appraisals on antiques as this is not my field of expertise.

Experience

I have been repairing, refinishing and of course buying old furniture for the past 30 years. On any given weekend I can be found at auction sales or flea markets searching out a good buy. I have taken several courses in this area over the years, but I find "Hands On" learning to be the best teacher. I can help you avoid the pitfalls and problems of this wonderful rewarding craft.
