Question
I hace an Ed Roos cedar chest, made by Ed. Roos Com., Forest Park, Illinois. I am currently refinishing it, however, befor I begin I hope you might have a picture or info about it. Also it would be greatly appreciated if you could give me any information about the value. The chest is Style # 8005. Thank you so much for your time. I did go to the Ed. Roos web site for some info. The chest also has Christian Furniture, Salt Lake City, Ut. label inside. Again, thank you so very much.

Answer
Hi Jackie
So nice to hear from you.
I too would look on the Roos site for info but you have already done that.
Are you sure the chest needs to be completely refinished.
Perhaps a cleaning and waxing would be all thats needed.
Jackie there are lots of these chests around and the condition of them determines the value.
Could I see a picture of yours, or a good idea of the damage that needs refinishing?
My e mail is ecronk@sympatico.ca
Kindest Regards
Eileen

Expertise

I can answer most questions about the repairing and refinishing of all your old furniture items (the things we call antiques). I can also give you advice on what wood items to choose and what wood items to avoid at auctions, flea markets etc. I DO NOT give appraisals on antiques as this is not my field of expertise.

Experience

I have been repairing, refinishing and of course buying old furniture for the past 30 years. On any given weekend I can be found at auction sales or flea markets searching out a good buy. I have taken several courses in this area over the years, but I find "Hands On" learning to be the best teacher. I can help you avoid the pitfalls and problems of this wonderful rewarding craft.
