Question
Hello Eileen,

My mom has an Ed Roos Waterfall Style Sweetheart Cedar Chest.  The Style # is 5797 and the Serial # is 248659 (This information was found on the underside of the one drawer).  The original warranty and paper work are still attached to the inside of the lid.

My mom is wondering what the value might be.  The original clock is missing an there is are a few minor scratches on the drawer and on the lid.   Outside of that, is is a beautiful piece of furniture.  The chest originally belonged to my deceased great aunt, who gave it to her sister, my grandmother.  After my grandmother's death, my mom  took it.  Any information you could provide would be appreciated.

I look forward to hearing back from you.

Regards,

Steve

Answer
Hi Steve
Nice to hear from you.
My experience is these chests bring anywhere from $300.00
to $450.00 depending on condition.
Here is a link I found with some info on the company

I love these old chests and if I had a bigger house I would have lots of them :-)
Regards
Eileen

Expertise

I can answer most questions about the repairing and refinishing of all your old furniture items (the things we call antiques). I can also give you advice on what wood items to choose and what wood items to avoid at auctions, flea markets etc. I DO NOT give appraisals on antiques as this is not my field of expertise.

Experience

I have been repairing, refinishing and of course buying old furniture for the past 30 years. On any given weekend I can be found at auction sales or flea markets searching out a good buy. I have taken several courses in this area over the years, but I find "Hands On" learning to be the best teacher. I can help you avoid the pitfalls and problems of this wonderful rewarding craft.
