Question
My friend was given an old looking wooden slot machine. Idon't have any photos of it so I'll describe it for you. It's made by ROTOMAT, stands 28in.H,18in.W,7in.D. It has 11111 stamped on the metal plate by arm on side and 2 locks. The top front has ROTOMAT in silver letters on red, coin slots above and below center O, has button in center O. Below this is AWARDS in silver letters on blue and a button. Next is the window of bars on red, blue and silver metal. Below the window is a silver metal dog head (looks like a boxer). Below the head is the winners tray in red, blue and silver. All I know is that it's made by Rotomat in Germany. Is it a repilca maybe?

Answer
Hi Cindy,

No, it's not a reproduction. Never heard of any being reproduced anywhere. These were made in Germany and that is the reason they're not a hot seller over here. Machines on foreign coins, or just foreign games, don't sell well here. There neat, and interesting, but just don't sell for a lot. You might fine one on ebay under slot machines. I see them from time to time. My guess as to value, if your interested, is $75.00 to $300.00.
Thank You

Expertise

I am an expert on old coin operated machines, slot machines, trade stimulator's, jukeboxes, old arcade machines, etc. I have been identifying these for people who respond to my web site listed below, for a few years now. In almost all cases I am able to tell them about their old coin operated machines, the year, the value, and other general information about their machines. I do not know much about soda vending machines, coin banks, or scales, but I will try to help you with these if I can. Please email photo's to: jackpot7@ix.netcom.com My web site is at: http://www.coinslots.com

Experience

I bought my first slot machine, a .50 Cent Mills Black Cherry in 1969 and have been hooked from that time, I still have that Slot machine! Before that I found a open barrel full of old scraped jukebox wall boxes behind a restaurant, I wanted them all but never took a one of them. Anything that took a coin drove me nuts!
