Question
Okay it is to my understanding the only collectable lane furniture products where the chests they started making but I have a question on a Lane bedroom set I just aquired. it is a hard wood set with a vintage but contemporary look. I am not sure where to look for style and serial on the units though and cannot find it anywhere online. It does have the company logo engraved into the drawers of the 2 dressers that are with it though.

Answer
Hi Matthew
Nice to hear from you.
Well my understanding is that Lane made only chests until 1951. Then they made tables and small pieces through the 1950's.
So your set must be 1960 or newer, which would not make it collectable.
If you contacted the company, perhaps they could tell you.
If the style and numbers where on it, it would be clearly visable on the back of the pieces though.
Kindest Regards

Expertise

I can answer most questions about the repairing and refinishing of all your old furniture items (the things we call antiques). I can also give you advice on what wood items to choose and what wood items to avoid at auctions, flea markets etc. I DO NOT give appraisals on antiques as this is not my field of expertise.

Experience

I have been repairing, refinishing and of course buying old furniture for the past 30 years. On any given weekend I can be found at auction sales or flea markets searching out a good buy. I have taken several courses in this area over the years, but I find "Hands On" learning to be the best teacher. I can help you avoid the pitfalls and problems of this wonderful rewarding craft.
