Collectibles-General (Antiques)/Leneige Thimble

Question
Within my parent's estate, there is a thimble that belonged to my grandmother.  It is placed in a plastic hinged box with the word Leneige on the lid and China.  The thimble has no distinquishing marks and had gold bands one wide and one thin at the base wih a flower motif repeatly painted around the body of the thimble with gold, green and orange colors.  I believe it to be made around 1950's according to the box only.  Do you know if Leneige created thimbles or if they just found a box that they could put a pretty thimble into?  Plus would it be worth anything to put more effort into researching it's worth?

Answer
Hello Michelle.  You don't say what material the thimble is made out of.  Is it porcelain or bone china or a material like that?  If so, and there is no mark on the thimble, there is no way to identify who actually made the thimble, regardless of the box markings.  If it is an unmarked porcelain or bone china thimble, there is more sentimetal value to it than monetary.  If you are able to send me a digital picture, I may be able to provide more info.  bacchino@twcny.rr.com.  Barb
