Question
Hi there, eileen

I.am currently interested in buying a brand new longines automatic wrist watch, i am specially interested in Swiss made watches.

however I came across this model of a longines dress watch sapahire crystal, automatic, it comes in two versions, one is about 300 dollars and the other is over 1000 dollars, their looks are the same, except for the dial colors and layout.
both are guaranteed to be geniune longines by the dealers.

could please advice me as to why the large price discrepency?
is it possible to be a fake? to my meager experience about expensive watches, about the quality of the dial, bracelet, locks, and the manner of the knobs feel and movement of the hands it tells me that this is a well made watch, and could be a genuine, but there is something that tells me it may not be ( the price). I have shoped around most expensive watch retailer here and all of them carry the same watch with a 10-20 dollar price difference among them.
all the documents and guarantees are available from the dealer upon purchase.

I live here in Saudi Arabia, Riyadh.
and al the stores that i went to are accredited by longines

Thanks for any insights about this subject.

Expertise

I can answer most questions about the repairing and refinishing of all your old furniture items (the things we call antiques). I can also give you advice on what wood items to choose and what wood items to avoid at auctions, flea markets etc. I DO NOT give appraisals on antiques as this is not my field of expertise.

Experience

I have been repairing, refinishing and of course buying old furniture for the past 30 years. On any given weekend I can be found at auction sales or flea markets searching out a good buy. I have taken several courses in this area over the years, but I find "Hands On" learning to be the best teacher. I can help you avoid the pitfalls and problems of this wonderful rewarding craft.
