Collectibles-General (Antiques)/The New Priscilla

Question
I just acquired "The New Priscilla Sewing Machine."  It is a fold out table model.  The cabinetry is Quartered Sawed Oak.  The legs and foot pedal are made of iron.  It has two small drawers on either side, and one middle drawer.  It is missing two of drawer pulls.  The wood is slightly warn and a little dry, but is in pretty good condition.  Could you tell me the manufacturer?  Do you know anything about the Priscilla Needleworks Co?  Is this item of any value?  What more would you need to know to help determine this?

Answer
Hello Sylvia,
I am afraid I know little about your machine other than:
Your machine was made by the Priscilla Needlework Company of Boston, Mass. The Priscilla Needlework Co. sold mainly patterns for needlework but they also made this branded sewing machine.

You might want to contact this organization, the International Sewing Machine Collector's Society.

Hopefully they will be able to provide details about your sewing machine and the history or be able to put you in touch with someone who is familiar with this brand.

Expertise

I have been a collector of antique sewing tools and thimbles for over 30 years. I am also a dealer in this field and sell on eBay under the name -- serengeti2. I am NOT, and I repeat NOT an expert on antique or vintage domestic household sewing machines used for everyday home sewing. I can offer help when it comes to TOY or miniature collectible sewing machines ONLY.
